Okay, so, I just have to throw this out there. I'm now at the 3 hour something mark and the one thing that really bugs me is you calling yourself a hack, three times even. Now I'm probably reading too much into it but I want to say that you, sir, are NOT a hack. In fact I dare say that your edits are as good as some of the nature documentaries I've seen on TV. And I say that as someone who gets incredibly turned off by bad editing (second only to bad sound). Anyway. Carry on!

Found your channel recently. Been watching over morning coffee. My husband and I are inspired by you and your wonderful videos and we just bought our first canoe and went out this past weekend. Hopefully by next year we will be doing overnight trips! Thank you.

Just a query about with all the damp traversing and water, do you get many leeches? here in Australia when camping in damp environments near creeks etc leeches are the bain of your existence whilst camping ( along with mosquito's that can carry some nasty diseases here) or does the cold over winter kill them off?

Took me a week to finish, but great video. Had to smile a bit about the music part - having dealt with making youtube content myself I know that struggle. The basic edit is done in a day or two, but then it takes another day to find the proper music. But it's so worth it and so far, imo, you nailed it. And since you mentioned metal - I think some nice, calm ambient black metal could work well too ;) But that's just me speaking as a metalhead. All in all, really loving the content you put out. Honest and down to earth. Also it really makes me miss canooing myself.

I had to laugh when you said the squirrel “acts like he owns the place”. In my opinion they do, more so than humans. Thank you for your hard work. I have really enjoyed the first two installments and look forward to fall and winter. I’m a teacher on summer break so this has been a fun addition to my summer. For sure though the fall and winter will be a nice respite for when I’m back into the school year. Thank you!

I keep a mat of carpet to put my feet on in the canoe. I throw it over logs to slide my canoe over more easily with less chance of damaging it.
